My home studio is located in Plainview, KY, with plenty of open space to work with, access to every backdrop color, and everything ready to go when you arrive! My address will be provided after you’ve scheduled your photo shoot.

I also host pop-up events! This allows me to move around and offer photo shoots around the midwest! 

These spaces are either rented studios or pop-ups within local businesses. If you join my email list, you will be updated any time new studio dates/cities are announced!

If you have a location request for a studio pop-up, please let me know.

I offer home visits for all of Louisville! I am also totally open to traveling outside of Louisville (Lexington, New Albany, Cincinnati, etc.), but this has to be discussed and approved prior to booking your session. This may result in an extra charge, depending how far you are.

3-4 weeks after your shoot, I will be emailing you a link to schedule your Zoom Gallery Premiere. This email will also include a sneak peak to your view your watermarked gallery, so you can get an idea of what you’d like to order when we meet.

During our call, we will look at your photographs together and discuss your needs. To allow for the utmost flexibility and convenience, clients build their own collections of digital and print artwork.

Digital download collections are available in mini, standard and deluxe options. The purchase of a digital download collection includes a $100 print credit, which can be applied to an order of physical artwork!

Through my professional print lab, you will receive top quality products; such as gallery frames, canvases, and photo books. Each print purchase comes with the corresponding photograph in the form of a digital download.

Once we’ve decided what your perfect collection looks like, we will place your order at the end of our meeting together.

As I specialize in animal photography, I do not offer photographs of people with their pets.

*I am completely flexible when it comes to Celebration of Life Sessions, and will photograph you with your pet in that instance.

In the event that you need to reschedule your session, I ask for a 48hr notice. Anything less than that will result in a forfeit of your deposit.

Of course, if you have some sort of unforeseeable event/emergency, I am understanding of the fact that things happen, especially when animals are involved. If you have to cancel or reschedule your photo shoot due to an emergency, please be sure to let me know as soon as possible.

I’m asked this question a lot, and it’s funny because barely any of my clients ever sit still! I want your pet to be their normal, goofy, happy selves during their shoot. 

Whether my subjects are in the shelter and completely untrained, or a baby raccoon that has no clue what I’m doing, it always works out — you would have no clue how nuts it was behind the scenes. I’ve got a lot of tricks up my sleeve! 

Not only am I able to freeze motion very quickly, so silliness is encouraged, but if I catch them on a particularly wiggly day there are a lot of ways to work around it.

Believe it or not, lack of cooperation never means that your pet wiggles too much or doesn’t know commands. Behind every great pet portrait is not always a calm and easy going photo session; full of perfect sits and instant paw shakes on command. I want to see your pet being themselves! Hopping around, overly excited, not a single command under their belt, obsessed with treats, slobbering all over themselves: sometimes this is simply a part of your pet’s personality and it should be embraced! I only need their eye on me for a fraction of a second, and that’s the trick! This is all done on their time, so if they need a little extra to focus, that’s no problem! 🙂 Your session time is unlimited, so there’s no rush!

The only reason that I’ve had to cut a session short has been fear. Whether they’re scared of the lights, have a general dislike of the backdrop, or they simply don’t feel like having a camera in their face that day, maybe this new experience was too much for them and we had to end it. Although extremely uncommon, I have had this happen twice in my career.

In general, this really isn’t something that you have to worry about. With the speed of my camera and a lot of patience, 9 times out of 10, I can work with your pet to get them to a place in which they can relax, trust, and actually really have fun! I truly have unlimited patience when it comes to animals. There’s no rush here and they can thrive in this new environment with a calm and positive attitude, fun toys, and great treats!

Although I do have a lot of tricks up my sleeve, if a dog is too scared, they’re too scared. In the two instances in which we did eventually decide to call it quits, I was able to snag a few quick shots, but I wasn’t able to provide the variety or standard that I hold myself to. This experience is supposed to be fun for you and for your pets! I definitely don’t want them to be uncomfortable or scared; that’s not at all what this is about. Once we’ve decided together that your pet is simply not into this, we’re done. If it does come to this, you will receive a 50% refund of your deposit and fully edited digital downloads of any photographs that I did capture. We can play this by ear though and talk after I’ve gone through my shots!

99.9% of the time, this is a really fun experience for all of the animals involved!! Treats, endless praise, cuddles, toys, performing tricks, peanut butter and crazy noises make this a blast for them and for you! 

When we’re in this studio environment, I should be the sole queen of the treats and toys! We want to get to a place where your pet is enamored with me and the goodies that only I have. They’ll quickly learn that if they do what I ask, they get a treat after the flash goes off! If everybody in the room is giving rewards, then your pet will be looking around at everybody and having a difficult time listening. We want them to strictly focus on me so that their eyes are looking right into my lens. If someone is holding a treat over my head or off to the side, you can really see this difference in camera. *If you have a very nervous pet, we may end up totally changing how we do things, but we’ll always start out with me being queen treat lady!

If your pet is slower to warm up to this environment or they have a tough time with direction, it’s really no problem at all. They’re doing their best! This is a brand new experience for them and sometimes it can take time to understand the process. Some animals are able to work it in no time at all, while some are nervous at first and take longer. Both ways are perfect! Each session is an unlimited time because it’s up to our pets how long it takes. There’s no rush, and I promise they’re all doing great. If you’re relaxed, it’ll help them to relax too.

If you’ve scheduled a home visitplease make sure there is a cleared space on a hard floor available for me to set up on. 

My gear consists of one studio light and an 8′ long backdrop. If you’re unsure about your space, please reach out at 614.940.6763 and we can schedule a time to video chat and look at it together. Where there’s a will, there’s a way! You’d be surprised how many odd little spaces I’ve been able to squeeze into! 

If you’ve got a high energy dog, it really helps to give them a walk or play with them before their photo shoot. Don’t exhaust them, we still want to see that excitement, but this will help to manage those wiggles a bit!

I highly suggest avoiding this for multiple reasons:

  • When you order prints from a place like Walgreens, CVS, Shutterfly, Mpix, etc, you are essentially ordering different photographs. Only professional print labs, specifically used for photography, have the specific machines and technicians that will provide prints high in quality and true to color. Professional print labs have the top products that will last and the expertise to uphold the quality of the image.
  • Even before going to the lab, only your photographer can correctly resize and edit your photo for your chosen piece of artwork. Without this step, you will lose a lot of quality in your photograph.

I care so much about my clients. I want your photographs to be enjoyed for a very long time. After our time together and your investment in a unique set of quality images, of course they should be displayed at their best!
When you order your artwork through your photographer, you are directly supporting me, my work and my small business. When you order prints elsewhere, you are instead supporting Walgreens, CVS, Shutterfly and Mpix.
